Adult Education at St. Nicholas

Religious education is not just for children. All of us need opportunities to continue to learn and grow in our faith. Adult Ed allows us to discover and explore the teachings and Traditions of Orthodox Christianity while also connecting with our fellow parishioners and learners.

The Divine Liturgy: Christ's Work for His People

Beginning May 18, 2021, our Adult Ed program will be beginning a segment on the Divine Liturgy. The Divine Liturgy is at the core of who we are as Orthodox Christians, since it is through the Mystery of the Body and Blood of Christ that we become the Church. In this segment, we will study the historical development of the Divine Liturgy, as well as the meaning and function of each part of the Divine Liturgy.

Our text for this segment is the book The Divine Liturgy: A Commentary in the Light of the Fathers by Hieromonk Gregorios of Koutloumousiou Monastery on Mt. Athos. Copies of this book are available for purchase in our Parish Bookstore.

Adult Ed meets at 6pm on Tuesdays. Please consult our parish calendar for more details, as there will be some 'off weeks' over the summer. For those who prefer to join over Zoom, a link to the class will be emailed out through the parish listserv.
