Adult Education at St. Nicholas

Religious education is not just for children. All of us need opportunities to continue to learn and grow in our faith. Adult Ed allows us to discover and explore the teachings and Traditions of Orthodox Christianity while also connecting with our fellow parishioners and learners.

Orthodox Christianity 101

Beginning January 11, 2022, our Adult Ed program begins our Orthodox Christianity 101 class.

This class is intended for catechumens and inquirers into the Orthodox Christian faith. It is also open to Orthodox Christians who would like a 'refresher course' on the basis of their faith.

For this class, we will be reading Welcome to the Orthodox Church: An Introduction to Eastern Christianity by Frederica Mathewes-Green. Copies of this book are available in our parish bookstore.

Adult Ed meets at 6pm on Thursdays. Please consult our parish calendar for more details, as there will be some 'off weeks' over the summer. For those who prefer to join over Zoom, a link to the class will be emailed out through the parish listserv.

Although catechumens are expected to attend Orthodox Christianity 101 from the beginning, others are welcome to join the class at any time.
