Priest: Blessed is our God, always, now, and ever, and to the ages of ages.
Amen.
Priest: Glory to You, O God, glory to You.
Heavenly King, Comforter, the Spirit of truth, present everywhere and filling all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of life: come and dwell in us, cleanse us of every impurity; and save our souls, O good One.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
All-holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse us of our sins. Master, pardon our iniquities. Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Your name’s sake.
Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, Who art in the heavens, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Priest: For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.
Amen.
Lord, have mercy. (ιβ´)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Part I Μέρος Α´
Come, let us worship and fall down before God, our King.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ God, our King.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and our God.
When I called on You, O God of my righteousness, You heard me; in my affliction You covered me.
Have compassion on me, and hear my prayer.
How long will you be slow of heart, you sons of men? Why do you love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων, ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι; ἵνα τὶ ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα, καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος;
Know also that the Lord has made His holy one wondrous; the Lord will hear me when I cry to Him.
Be angry, and do not sin; feel compunction upon your beds for what you say in your hearts.
Sacrifice a sacrifice of righteousness, and hope in the Lord.
Many say: "Who will show us good things?" Πολλοὶ λέγουσι· Τὶς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθὰ;
The light of Your countenance, Lord, has shined upon us; You have given gladness to my heart.
From the fruit of their wheat, wine and oil they are multiplied.
I shall lay down and sleep in peace in the same place.
For You alone, Lord, have made me to dwell in hope.
Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, nor chasten me in Your wrath.
Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am weak; heal me, Lord, for my bones are greatly troubled; but You, Lord, how long? Ἐλέησόν με, Κύριε, ὅτι ἀσθενής εἰμι ἴασαί με, Κύριε, ὅτι ἐταράχθη τὰ ὀστᾶ μου, καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη σφόδρα, καὶ σύ, Κύριε, ἕως πότε;
Turn to me again, Lord, deliver my soul; save me for the sake of Your mercy.
For in death there is none that is mindful of You, and in Hades who will confess You? Ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ ὁ μνημονεύων σου, ἐν δὲ τῷ ᾅδῃ τὶς ἐξομολογήσεταί σοι;
I toiled in my groaning; every night I wash my bed, I will water my couch with tears.
My eye has become troubled through wrath, I have grown old among all my enemies.
Depart from me, all you that work vanity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
The Lord has heard my supplication, the Lord has received my prayer.
Let my enemies be greatly put to shame and troubled, let them be turned back, and be speedily put to shame.
How long, Lord, will You utterly forget me? How long will You turn Your face away from me? Ἕως πότε, Κύριε, ἐπιλήσῃ μου εἰς τέλος; ἕως πότε ἀποστρέφεις τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ;
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with grievings in my heart by day and by night? Ἕως τίνος θήσομαι βουλὰς ἐν ψυχῇ μου, ὀδύνας ἐν καρδίᾳ μου, ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός;
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Look upon me, hear me, Lord my God.
Enlighten my eyes, lest at any time I sleep unto death. Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him.
Those that afflict me will rejoice if I am shaken; but as for me, I have hoped in Your mercy.
My heart will rejoice in Your salvation; I will sing to the Lord, Who is my Benefactor, and I will chant to the name of the Lord most high.
(And Again) Look upon me, hear me, Lord my God.
Enlighten my eyes, lest at any time I sleep unto death. Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to You, O God.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to You, O God.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Glory to You, O God.
Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
Psalm 24 Ψαλμὸς ΚΔ´
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
I have lifted up my soul to You, Lord; I have trusted in You, my God; do not let me be put to shame unto the ages.
Do not let my enemies laugh me to scorn, and let none that wait on You be put to shame.
Let those who are lawless without a cause be ashamed; make Your ways, Lord, known to me and teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and I have waited on You all the day long.
Remember Your compassions, Lord, and Your mercies, for they are unto the ages.
Do not remember the sins of my youth and my ignorances.
Remember me according to Your mercy, for the sake of Your goodness, Lord.
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He will set a law for those who sin in the way.
He will guide the meek in judgment, He will teach the meek His ways.
All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth to those who seek after His covenant and His testimonies.
For the sake of Your name, Lord, be gracious to my sin, for it is great.
Who is the man that fears the Lord? He will set him a law in the way which He has chosen.
His soul shall dwell among good things, and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The Lord is the strength of those who fear Him, and His covenant shall be manifested to them.
My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for it is He Who will draw my feet out of the snare.
Look on me, and have mercy on me; for I am one who is only-begotten and poor.
The afflictions of my heart are multiplied; bring me out from my necessities.
Behold my lowliness and my toil, and forgive all my sins.
Look upon my enemies, for they are multiplied, and they have hated me with an unjust hatred.
Keep my soul and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I have hoped in You.
The innocent and the upright have cleaved to me, for I waited on You, Lord.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his afflictions.
I have hoped in You, Lord, let me not be put to shame in the age to come; in Your righteousness deliver me, and rescue me.
Bow down Your ear to me, make haste to rescue me.
Be a God to defend me, and be a House of refuge to save me.
For You are my Strength and my Refuge, and You will guide me and nourish me for Your name’s sake.
You will bring me out of this snare which they have hidden for me, for You are my Defender, Lord.
I will commit my spirit into Your hands; You have redeemed me, Lord God of truth.
You have hated those who cling to empty vanities.
But I have hoped in the Lord, I will rejoice and be glad in Your mercy.
For You have regarded my lowliness; You have saved my soul out of necessities.
And You have not shut me up in the hands of enemies; You have set my feet in a spacious place.
Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am afflicted; my eye is troubled with anger, as also are my soul and my belly.
For my life is spent with grief, and my years with groanings.
My strength has grown weak in poverty, and my bones are troubled.
I have become a reproach among all my enemies, and greatly also for my neighbors, and a fear to my acquaintances.
They that saw me outside fled from me; I am forgotten by the heart like a dead man.
I have become like a broken vessel; for I have heard the reproach of many that dwell round about.
When they assembled together against me they devised to take away my life.
But as for me, I have hoped in You, Lord; I said: You are my God; in Your hands are my lots.
Deliver me from the hands of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
Make Your face shine upon Your servant, save me in Your mercy; Lord, do not let me be put to shame, for I have called upon You.
Let the ungodly be put to shame and let them be brought down into Hades.
Speechless be the deceitful lips which speak iniquity against the righteous man with arrogance and contempt.
How great is the multitude of Your goodness, Lord, which You have hidden for those who fear You.
You shall perfect those who hope in You before the sons of men.
You shall hide them from the disturbance of men in the secrecy of Your presence.
You shall shelter them from contrary tongues in the tabernacle.
Blessed is the Lord, for He has made His mercy wondrous in a fortified city.
But as for me, I said in my ecstasy: I am cast away from the presence of Your eyes.
Therefore You have heard the voice of my supplication when I cried to You.
Love the Lord, all you His saints, for the Lord requires truth; and He renders their due to those who act with exceeding pride.
Be virtuous, and let your heart be strong, all you that hope in the Lord.
He that dwells in the help of the Most High shall abide in the shelter of the God of heaven.
He shall say to the Lord: You are my Helper and my Refuge; He is my God, and I will hope in Him.
For He shall deliver you from the snare of the hunters and from every troubling word.
With His shoulders He will overshadow you, and under His wings you shall have hope; His truth will encompass you with a shield.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day.
Nor of the thing that walks in darkness, nor of the mishap and demon of noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.
You shall behold only with your eyes, and you shall see the reward of sinners.
For You, Lord, are my hope; I have made You, the Most High, my refuge.
No evils shall come near you, and no scourge shall draw near to your dwelling.
For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
They shall bear you up on their hands, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the asp and the basilisk, and you shall trample upon the lion and the dragon.
For he has set his hope on Me, and I will deliver him; I will shelter him because he has known My name.

Symbol of the Faith Σύμβολον τῆς Πίστεως
I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;
And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father, through Whom all things were made; Καὶ εἰς ἕνα Κύριον Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν, τὸν Υἱόν του Θεοῦ τὸν Μονογενῆ, τὸν ἐκ τοῦ Πατρὸς γεννηθέντα πρὸ πάντων τῶν αἰώνων.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from the heavens and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man; Τὸν δι᾽ ἡμᾶς τοὺς ἀνθρώπους καὶ διὰ τὴν ἡμετέραν σωτηρίαν κατελθόντα ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν καὶ σαρκωθέντα ἐκ Πνεύματος Ἁγίου καὶ Μαρίας τῆς Παρθένου καὶ ἐνανθρωπήσαντα.
Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, He suffered and was buried;
Rising on the third day according to the Scriptures, Καὶ ἀναστάντα τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ κατὰ τὰς Γραφάς.
And ascending into the heavens, He is seated at the right hand of the Father; Καὶ ἀνελθόντα εἰς τοὺς Οὐρανοὺς καὶ καθεζόμενον ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῦ Πατρός.
And coming again in glory to judge the living and the dead, His kingdom shall have no end; Καὶ πάλιν ἐρχόμενον μετὰ δόξης κρῖναι ζῶντας καὶ νεκρούς, οὗ της βασιλείας οὐκ ἔσται τέλος.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets; Καὶ εἰς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον, τὸ Κύριον, τὸ Ζωοποιόν, τὸ ἐκ του Πατρὸς ἐκπορευόμενον, τὸ σὺν Πατρὶ καὶ Υἱῷ συμπροσκυνούμενον καὶ συνδοξαζόμενον, τὸ λαλῆσαν διά τῶν Προφητῶν.

On a Feast Day, read the Troparia of the Feast. If not, the following Troparia of Repentance.
On Mondays and Wednesdays of the Fast:
Tone 2
Enlighten my eyes, Christ God, lest at any time I sleep unto death, lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
God, be the Help of my soul, for I pass through the midst of many snares; deliver me out of them, good One, and save me, You Who love mankind.
Now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Virgin Theotokos, beseech Him Who was born of you, seeing that we have no boldness on account of our many sins; for the supplications of a Mother avail much to win the Master’s favor; most-venerable one, do not disdain the prayers of sinners; for He Who deigned to suffer for our sake is merciful, and mighty to save.
But on Tuesdays and Thursdays of the Fast:
Tone Plagal 4
You, Lord, see the sleepless watch of my invisible enemies and You, my Fashioner, know the weakness of my miserable flesh; wherefore I commit my spirit into Your hands. Shelter me with the wings of Your goodness, lest I sleep unto death; enlighten my spiritual eyes with the delight of Your divine words; and raise me up at the appointed time to glorify You, since You alone are good and love mankind.
Look upon me and have mercy on me, for I am one only-begotten and poor.
How terrible is Your judgment, Lord! When the angels stand present, men are brought in, the books are opened, deeds are searched out, and thoughts are examined, what judgment will there be for me who was conceived in sins? Who will quench the flame for me? Who will lighten the darkness for me, unless You, Lord, have mercy on me, since You love mankind? Ὡς φοβερὰ ἡ κρίσις σου, Κύριε, τῶν Ἀγγέλων παρισταμένων, τῶν ἀνθρώπων εἰσαγομένων, τῶν βίβλων ἀνεῳγμένων, τῶν ἔργων ἐρευνωμένων, τῶν λογισμῶν ἐξεταζομένων. Ποία κρίσις ἔσται ἐν ἐμοί, τῷ συλληφθέντι ἐν ἁμαρτίαις; τίς μου τὴν φλόγα κατασβέσει; τίς μου τὸ σκότος καταλάμψει; εἰ μή, σύ, Κύριε, ἐλεήσεις με, ὡς φιλάνθρωπος;
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
God, grant me tears, as You once granted them to the sinful woman, and deem me worthy of washing Your feet freed from the way of error, and offering You, as fragrant myrrh, a pure life obtained through repentance; thus may I also hear Your longed-for voice, saying: "Go in peace, Your faith has saved you."
Now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Theotokos, I shall be saved having hope in you which cannot be put to shame; all-blameless one, I shall not be afraid, possessing your protection; I will pursue my enemies and put them to flight, covered with your shelter as though with a shield; and imploring your all-powerful aid, I cry out to you: Lady, save me by your intercessions, and raise me from the darkness of sleep to glorify you, by the power of the Son of God Who was incarnate of you.
Then: Εἶτα·
Lord, have mercy. (μ´)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
More honorable than the Cherubim, and more glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim; without defilement you gave birth to God the Word, truly the Theotokos, we magnify you.

Priest: Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God have mercy on us and save us.
Amen.
Prayer of Saint Basil the Great Εὐχὴν τοῦ Μεγάλου Βασιλείου
Priest: Lord, Lord, Who delivered us from every arrow that flies by day, protect us also from every difficulty that lurks in the darkness. Accept as an evening sacrifice our outstretched hands. Make us worthy to spend the night blameless and protected from evil. Protect us against every disturbance and fear which the devil causes us. Grant us compunctionate souls and diligent minds, that we may comprehend Your awesome and righteous judgments. Pierce our flesh with fear of You, and destroy our earthly passions, so that in the stillness of the night we may be enlightened contemplating on Your commandments. Keep far from us all indecent dreams and harmful desires. Awaken us at the time of prayer, strengthened in faith and able to obey Your commands. Through the mercy and compassion of Your only-begotten Son with Whom You are blessed, together with Your all-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.
Amen.
Part II Μερος Β´
Come, let us worship and fall down before God, our King.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ God, our King.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and our God.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions blot out my transgression.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my iniquity, and my sin is ever before me.
Against You only have I sinned, and have done evil in Your sight, that You may be justified in Your words, and be victorious when You are judged.
For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother bear me.
For behold, You have loved the truth; the hidden and secret things of Your wisdom You have made manifest to me.
Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; the bones that are humbled shall rejoice.
Turn Your face away from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and establish me with Your governing Spirit.
I shall teach transgressors Your ways, and the impious shall turn back to You.
Deliver me from bloodguilt, O God, the God of my salvation; my tongue shall rejoice in Your righteousness.
Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Your praise.
For if You had desired sacrifice, I would have given it; with whole-burnt offerings You shall not be pleased.
A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; a heart that is broken and humbled God will not reject.
Do good, Lord, in Your good pleasure to Sion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built.
Then You shall be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with oblation and whole-burnt offerings.
Then they shall offer young bulls upon Your altar.
Hear my prayer, Lord; let my cry come to You!
Do not hide Your face from me; in the day of my distress, incline Your ear to me.
Answer me speedily in the day when I call!
For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace.
My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; I forget to eat my bread.
My bones cleave to my flesh because of my loud groaning.
I am like a vulture of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places.
I lie awake, I am like a lonely bird on the housetop.
My enemies taunt me all the day, those who deride me use my name for a curse.
For I eat ashes like bread, and mingle tears with my drink.
Your face is indignant and angry, for You have taken me up and thrown me away.
My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.
But You, Lord, remain enthroned unto the ages; Your name endures to generation and generation.
You will arise and have pity on Sion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come.
For Your servants hold her stones dear, and have pity on her dust.
And the nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory.
For the Lord will build up Sion, He will appear in His glory.
He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their supplication.
Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet unborn may praise the Lord.
For He looked down from His holy height, the Lord looked at the earth from heaven.
To hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die.
So that men may declare the name of the Lord in Sion, and His praise in Jerusalem.
When peoples gather together therein, and kingdoms, to worship the Lord.
He has broken my strength in mid-course. He has shortened my days.
Do not take me hence in the midst of my days, You Whose years endure from generation to generation.
From of old, Lord, You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
They will perish, but You endure; they will all wear out like a garment.
You change them like raiment, and they pass away; but You are the same, and Your years have no end.
The children of Your servants shall dwell secure; their posterity shall be established before You.
Prayer of Manasses,
King of Juda
Priest: Lord, almighty, the God of our fathers, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and of their righteous descendants; Who made earth and all the heavens; Who encompassed the sea with the word of Your command; Who closed the depths and sealed them with Your awesome and glorious name; Whose presence all creation worships, and before Whose power they tremble because Your magnificent glory is beyond endurance, and Whose wrathful threat against sinners cannot be withstood: Your compassionate promise is ineffable and beyond measure, for You are the most-high Lord, Who offers atonement for the sins of mankind. In the abundance of Your goodness, Lord, You promised repentance and remission for those who have sinned against You. In the greatness of Your compassion You ordained that sinners should repent in order to be saved. You therefore, Lord, God of power, require repentance not of the righteous such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who did not sin against You, but from me a sinner, for I have committed more sins than the grains of sand by the sea. My sins are multiplied, Lord, they are multiplied, and I am not worthy to gaze upon the heights of heaven because of the multitude of my iniquities. I am weighed down by many iron chains so that I cannot raise up my head. There is no release for me because I have incurred Your anger and have done what is evil in Your sight: I have not done Your will, I have disobeyed Your commandments, and I have committed abominations and multiplied my offenses.
All kneel.
In my heart I kneel and beseech You in Your kindness: I have sinned, Lord, I have sinned, and I know my transgressions. But I pray to You, release me, Lord, release me, do not destroy me because of my sinfulness or heap up eternal evil against me, and do not condemn me to the depths of the earth. For You are God, the God of repentance, and in me You will show all Your kindness; although I am unworthy You will save me according to Your great mercy, and I will praise You through all the days of my life.
For all the heavenly powers sing to You, and Yours is the glory unto the ages of ages.
Amen.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ God, our King.
Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and our God.
O God, be attentive to helping me; Lord, make haste to help me.
Let them be shamed and confounded that seek after my soul.
Let them be turned back and brought to shame that desire evils against me.
Let them be turned back straightaway in shame that say to me: Well done! Well done!
Let those who seek after You be glad and rejoice in You, O God; and let those who love Your salvation say continually: The Lord be magnified.
But as for me, I am poor and needy; O God, come to my aid. You are my Helper and my Deliverer, Lord; do not delay.
Lord, hear my prayer, give ear to my supplications in Your truth; hear me in Your righteousness.
And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no man living shall be justified.
For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has humbled my life down to the earth.
He has sat me in darkness as those that have been long dead, and my spirit within me has become despondent; within me my heart is troubled.
I remembered days of old, I meditated on all Your works, I pondered on the creations of Your hands.
I stretched forth my hands to You; my soul thirsts after You like a waterless land.
Quickly hear me, Lord; my spirit has fainted away.
Do not turn Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit.
Cause me to hear Your mercy in the morning; for I have put my hope in You.
Cause me to know, Lord, the way in which I should walk; for have I lifted my soul up to You.
Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I have fled to You for refuge.
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God.
Your good Spirit shall lead me in the land of uprightness; You shall quicken me, Lord, for Your name’s sake.
You shall bring my soul out of affliction in Your righteousness, and You shall utterly destroy my enemies in Your mercy.
And You shall cut off all those who afflict my soul, for I am Your servant.

Lord, You have been our refuge in generation to generation. I have said: Lord have mercy upon me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.
Lord, in You I have taken refuge: teach me to do Your will, for You are my God.
For in You is the fountain of life: in Your light we shall see light.
Continue Your mercy to those who know You.
Make us worthy, Lord, in this evening to be kept from sin.
Blessed are You, Lord, the God of our fathers, and praised and glorified is Your name to the ages. Amen.
May Your mercy, Lord, be upon us, inasmuch as we trust in You.
Blessed are You, Lord: teach me Your commandments.
Blessed are You, Master: make me understand Your commandments.
Blessed are You, Holy One: enlighten me with Your commandments.
Lord, Your mercy is to the ages; do not disdain the works of Your hands.
To You belongs praise, to You belongs song, to You belongs glory, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now, and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, if we did not have Your saints as intercessors, and Your goodness to show compassion on us, how would we dare, Savior, to praise You, Whom the angels bless unceasingly? You Who know our hearts, spare our souls.

Lord, have mercy. (μ´)
You Who at all times and at every hour are worshipped and glorified both in heaven and on earth, Christ God; Who are long suffering and generous in mercy and compassion; Who love the just and show mercy to those hardened in sin; Who call all people to salvation through the promise of good things to come: receive, Lord, our supplications at this time, and direct our lives according to Your commandments.
Sanctify our souls; purify our bodies; set our minds aright; cleanse our thoughts; and deliver us from all calamity, wrath and distress.
Surround us with Your holy Angels, so that guided and guarded by them we may attain the unity of the faith, and the comprehension of Your ineffable glory; for You are blessed to the ages of ages. Amen. Prayer to the Theotokos
by Paul the Monastic of Evergetis Monastery
Spotless, undefiled, incorruptible, most-chaste, pure Virgin, Bride of God, Lady, who unites God the Word to man by your wondrous conception, and who joins the fallen nature of our race to heavenly things; the only hope of the hopeless, and the help of the persecuted; the ready help of those who flee to you, and the refuge of all Christians: do not reject me the sinner, the accursed one, who have rendered myself altogether useless by my shameful thoughts, words, and deeds, and who through indolence have become a slave to the pleasures of this life. But as Mother of the God Who loves mankind, show your love for me the sinner and the prodigal, and receive from me the prayers offered to you by unhallowed lips.
And, using your boldness as a Mother, entreat your Son, and our Lord and Master, to extend His goodness to me in His wondrous love for mankind, and, overlooking my numberless transgressions, turn me to repentance, showing me to be a zealous doer of His commandments.
And be ever near me as merciful, and compassionate, and gentle; in this present life an ardent protection and help, defending me from assaults of adversaries, and leading me to salvation; and in the hour of my departure, encompass my struggling soul, and drive the dark visions of evil spirits far from it; in the fearsome day of judgment, deliver me from eternal punishment, and present me as an inheritor of the ineffable glory of your Son and our God.
May this be my lot, my Lady, most-holy Theotokos, through your mediation and help; by the grace and love for mankind of your only-begotten Son, the Lord and God, and our Savior Jesus Christ.
To Whom belongs all glory, honor, and worship, with His eternal Father, and His All-Holy, and good, and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ
by Antiochos the Monastic of Pandektes Monastery
And grant to us, Master, as we depart for sleep, rest for our body and soul; and protect us from the murky sleep of sin, and from all dark and nocturnal passions.
Calm the impulses of passion, and quench the fiery darts of the evil one, which are treacherously cast against us; check the turbulence of our flesh, and put to rest all our earthy and mundane thoughts.
And grant to us, O God, a watchful mind, prudent reasoning, a vigilant heart, tranquil sleep, and release from all satanic fantasies. Raise us up at the hour of prayer, strengthened in Your commandments, and holding the remembrance of Your judgments unshaken within us.
Grant to us Your benediction through the night, that we may praise, and bless, and glorify Your all-honored and most-sublime Name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Then: Εἶτα·
Most-glorious, ever-virgin, blessed Theotokos, present our prayer to your Son and our God, and plead with Him, that through you He may save our souls.

All those do you shelter, O good one, those who in their faith flee unto you, with your strong hand you protect; we who sin have no one else who intercedes for us, before God endlessly, in ills and all dangers, for us who are laden with our many sins and mistakes; Mother, of our God in the Highest therefore we fall down to you, humbly; from all misfortunes, keep your servants safe.

When the Virgin beheld You unjustly sacrificed, Christ, she cried out to You, "My sweet child, why do You suffer so unjustly? How have You been suspended upon a tree, You Who suspended the whole earth upon the waters. Most-merciful Benefactor, I beg You not to leave me alone, for I am Your Mother and Your servant."

Lord, forgive those who hate and persecute us, be generous to those who do good to us and grant them every means of salvation and eternal life. Visit the sick and grant them health and strength. Guide those who are at sea, be the companion of those who travel upon the earth. Be the strength of our rulers. Grant remission of the sins to those who serve us and show us mercy. Remember Lord our fathers and brothers who have fallen asleep before us, and grant them a place of repose where the light of Your countenance shines. Remember, Lord, our brothers in prison, and preserve them from harm. Remember, Lord, those who bear fruit and do good deeds in Your holy churches, granting them salvation and eternal life. Remember, Lord, us who are humble sinners and unworthy servants: enlighten us with Your commandments. Through the prayers of Your all-pure Mother, our Lady, Theotokos, and ever-virgin Mary, for You are blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen.
